The Galapagos Islands

For our topic for this term we have been learning about the Galapagos Islands and adaption, we have written two essays these topics also, we have been watching the David Attenborough Galapagos islands videos. from this topic I have learnt a lot about the unique animals of the Galapagos, my favourite being the pink iguana. The pink iguana is the most rarest type of iguana living in the Galapagos islands, their colony was thought to be a victim in the Wolf Volcano explosion but we can not determine this seeing that it only happened a few hours ago.
I think that this topic has really improved my knowledge about the theory of Evolution and the same with natural selection.
all in all I really loved doing the Galapagos topic and will be looking ford to doing soething ike this  again.

School responsibilities

Hi guys its Sam here today I am going to talk (well write about) my school duties and responsibilities. my job to do for the school is to be a first-aid monitor, this means that you are on duty at morning tea and lunch in the first aid room. To be a first-aid monitor you will have to be trained and know how to preform basic first-aid things. my day to be on is Fridays and I am on first-aid with James Tuck. To get into one of these jobs you will have to volunteer and hand in letters to the job leaders, they will select a few people for the job and that is that. I volunteered for Tech support, first aid, librarian and road patrol. I got in for first aid and road patrol. the other job I do for the school is road patrol, to do this you must be trained for one or two days then briefed on safety, after that you are picked to become a reserve or a patroller. I was picked for a reserve.

All in all I love doing my jobs at St bens and I hope you do too!

Mission Fair (last one)

On Friday we had the mission fair again same as last time we were doing pizza.
We dedicated our stall to JK who left for Auckland later that year, so we named the stall JKs pizza
in memory of Joseph.
As well as selling pizza we were selling drinks; Fanta and Coke Zero (we were not allowed to sell Pepsi max.) Unlike last time we were based outside and did not have a pizza warmer, this was no problem seeing as we sold our of pizza in 10 MINS, the pizza came late this year so there was suspense building up to 11.45am when the pizza should arrive.
For the first thirty mins  we were just waiting around occasionally getting a one or two people who wanted  a cheap drink or to reserve a pizza.
all in all the Mission fair was a great success seeing as we sold everything (even our drinks) the school raised a total of $2350 for cyclone pam in Vanuatu.
